My Bodybuilding Chest Workout on Tuesday
All straight sets. These are not my best weights by any stretch. This is dieted-down strength.
1. Rotator cuff with shoulder horn: 20 lbs 4 x 15-20 reps
2. Incline dumbbell press
80 lbs x 15 reps
100 lbs x 10 reps
120 lbs x 8 reps
130 lbs x 8 reps
Lifetime best weight: 160 lbs x 5 reps.
I decided that I wasn’t going to go for more. Mike O’Hearn and Chris Cormier were doing 170s that day.
3. Flat dumbbell press
80 lbs x 10 reps
100 lbs x 10 reps
115 lbs x 7 reps
115 lbs x 9 reps
Lifetime best weight: 140 lbs x 5 reps. We didn’t do these a lot.
4. Decline hammer press
230 lbs x 15 reps
270 lbs x 10 reps
360 lbs x 8 reps
360 lbs x 9 reps
Lifetime best weight: 540 lbs x 12 reps – I can still do this on a good day!
5. Incline flyes on arched incline bench
45 lbs x 10 reps
55 lbs x 10 reps
65 lbs x 10 reps
70 lbs x 10 reps
Lifetime best weight: 100 lbs x 12 reps – I stopped there to make sure I didn’t compromise form and turn it into a press.
6. Dumbbell triceps kickbacks
45 lbs x 10 reps
65 lbs x 10 reps
75 lbs x 10 reps
75 lbs x 10 reps
Lifetime best weight: 100 lbs x 12 reps – a little body english but not as much as you’d expect.
12 sets abs, straight sets.
Memorial Day Muscle Beach International
This photo is from me at the 2007 Memorial Day Muscle Beach International contest: I got 2nd place in the Heavyweights.
I weighed in at 215 for this one. In the gym around 243 a couple weeks before. Measured bodyfat at 4.5%.
I came back at July 4th to win the Superheavies, those are the photos above.
I still did indulge in burgers and dogs after this show. Back on the diet the next day though!
